Barry Bruyere

Singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist: Strings, guitars, bass, mandolin and fiddle. Winds: Celtic fife, tin whistles and harmonicas.

Barry began songwriting soon after he picked up the guitar at age 12.
Over the years since that, he has explored many musical styles.
Performing with many musicians in 25 different countries has brought many influences. Drawing also on the bloodline of having both grandfathers who were talented musicians has been inspirational. Studying music at Ottawa University led to greater diversity of composition/arrangement and the qualifications to teach. Barry has written over 200 songs.
The Valley Mystics, a band spearheaded by Barry were chosen by the national student federation as the band to perform at thier annual conference in 1991.
The Valley Mystics played in many university functions and clubs during the late 80's early 90's in Quebec and Ontario. In the mid 90's Barry moved to the west coast.
Barry 's talents as multi-instrumentalist allow him to share the stage with those like the late, beautiful Amanda Huges (Arts Club), Canadian Music Festival singer/songerwriter Nancy Demerais (Railway Club), Laura Bacon with Station to Station (Richards on Richards)
With the Ghost Band from Spring 98 to Feb.2000 (East Van. Culture Centre, Wisehall, Christchurch Cathedral, APTN, Comox Longhouse, Roundhouse Theatre).
